We want to assure you that The Lunch People as a catering business already follows the highest standards of hygiene above and beyond those set out by the food standards agency. In response to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and on top of our already stringent hygiene management policy we have implemented additional measures and are also acting on government advice to minimise the risk of contracting or passing on this virus.
Our preparation, packaging and delivery procedure has been amended to keep our staff and clients safe.
Fresh and Quality Catering
We prepare all your food freshly in our kitchens on the Lansbury Business Estate, Woking, using seasonal and local produce whenever possible.
Placing an Order
We have made the ordering process as quick and easy as possible so when you have chosen your menu, you can order online, send us an email or call us directly.
Delivery and Collection
Your order will be delivered by our smartly dressed driver. We batch our deliveries by location in order to minimise our carbon footprint so your order may be dropped off up to 2 hours before your chosen delivery time.
Based in Woking, we will deliver and pick up free within 10 miles of our kitchens at the Lansbury Business Estate, covering Guildford, Chertsey, Weybridge, Aldershot, Farnborough and the surrounding areas of Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
The following minimum order values apply.
- within 0-3 miles £30 per order
- within 3 – 7 miles £50 per order
- within 7 – 10 miles £60 per order
- over 10 miles delivery charges may apply depending on the overall value of your order
We will collect dirty equipment the following working day, unless otherwise agreed.
Once delivered to your premises, the food becomes your sole responsibility.
We prepare, handle and produce food in strict accordance with UK hygiene regulations. We would advise you to follow the guidelines laid out by the Food Standards Agency. Any cold buffet food left out at room temperature for more than 4 hours and any hot buffet food left out for more than 1 hour after delivery, is considered unsafe for consumption and must be thrown away.
Our finger buffet and sandwich menu 1 are chefs choice of the day. We also offer a create your own option of both menus where you can choose your own dishes.
Our daily menu will always include vegetarian options (which will be clearly labeled).
We will provide printed menus with each lunch to show the dishes on offer and a list of allergens.
Special Dietary Requirements
Do you or any of your guests have specific dietary needs? Is somebody vegan, allergic or eats only halal meat? We are fully equipped to cater for all these requirements. Just let us know and we will provide some delicious alternatives at no extra charge.
When your requirements run over several days, we will automatically vary the menu so that delegates get a different selection of food each day.
All our lunches are delivered on non-disposable platters with paper napkins. Optional add on’s such as cutlery, china plates and glasses are also available. Any missing or damaged platters will be charged at £10 per item.
Deadlines and Cancellation
Please give us 48 hours notice for any new orders. You can increase or decrease guest numbers up until 12pm on the day before your order. Changes to numbers made after 12pm on the day before your order may incur a discretionary £10 charge.
We require 48 hours notice to cancel an order. Any late cancellations will incur a fee.

Invoicing and VAT
We will invoice after each order or on a weekly basis. We do reserve the right to charge a deposit for orders over £500.
Our payment terms are 30 days net. We prefer BACS payments but also accept cash, card or cheque payments.
All prices are subject to VAT at the current rate from 1st June 2022.

The Lunch People are committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment. We have reduced the use of single use plastic by finding sustainably sourced disposable cups, plates, napkins and cutlery that are 100% compostable and biodegradable. We do not use cling film on our buffets and all our platters and lids are reusable. All our food is freshly prepared using seasonal and local produce wherever possible and we use local suppliers. We recycle paper, cardboard ,glass and compost our food waste. We are aware of our carbon footprint and do whatever we can to keep it as low as possible.
